Sight Unseen by Sandra Ireland

Sarah Sutherland is in her forties, divorced, a mum of one darling daughter; currently backpacking across the globe and daughter of one housebound father; who's becoming increasingly belligerent. Her days revolve around checking in on her Dad, phoning her daughter and a job she hates; managing a local supermarket. The only thing she looks forward to, apart from a sneeky midweek glass of wine are her Witch Tours which focus on Alisoune Gowdie; a 17th century resident of her home town of Kilgour who was accused of dancing with the devil at the mercat cross and found guilty of witchcraft. Sarah finds Alie's story fascinating and she even lives in what was once Alisoune Gowdie's house. When a friend at the local museum lets her take a sneak peek at the journal of the minister who accused Alie, Sarah looses herself on a quest to discover more about 17th Century Kilgour. This is a fantastic, thrilling read which features a contemporary mystery along with the historical one and a brilliantly relatable main character. I was delighted to be asked to review this book for Love Books Tours, This was my first time reading Sandra Ireland but it certainly won't be my last, in fact I may have discovered a new favourite author. This is a perfect witchy read for fans of Sarah Painter, Syd Moore and Rebecca Alexander. Sight Unseen is available from today.
